Alumni Council

The inaugural Alumni Council was established in April 2006 with the appointment of 12 members led by an elected President. Six additional members were added in April 2007 and a Vice President was elected.

The aim of the Council is to represent the interests of the alumni community and to be ambassadors for the School. The President also represents the Council and the Alumni Network on the School's Board of Directors.

Frank Zipfinger

 Frank Zipfinger
Frank Zipfinger has been Chairman of law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques since 1 February 2005. He is based in Sydney.

Frank holds degrees in law (LLB and LLM - Sydney University), in accounting and economics (Macquarie University). He also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Melbourne Business School.

Frank is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is an Executive Committee member of the St Joseph's College Indigenous Fund. Frank is a non-executive director of the Galileo Japan Trust, a property trust listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX Code GJT).
Christopher Freeland

Chris is a partner of Sydney-based law firm Gilbert + Tobin, and is its Chief Operating Officer.

He was previously with The Boston Consulting Group, working as a consultant in New York, Boston, Sydney and Melbourne, and became the General Manager of BCG's Australia/New Zealand offices.

While at MBS Chris established the MBS vs. AGSM debate - an event which is now an annual tradition between the two schools.

He is involved in a range of community activities, including as a current Director of the national arts organisation Performing Lines and a former President of the Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Hon. Max Bradford

The Hon Max Bradford

Max is Director and Principal of Bradford & Associates Ltd in New Zealand.

A former senior Cabinet Minister in the New Zealand Government, Max has over 30 years international and New Zealand experience as a public sector official. He has held a number of CEO positions in private sector representative organisations.

In recent years Max has undertaken economic and governance policy work for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and a number of governments in the Asian-Pacific, African and South American areas.
Neil Brown

Neil is a Co-founder and Principal of Minerva Capital Advisors, a boutique financial advisory firm based in New York, London and Sydney.

Neil returned to Australia in 2007 after serving as Managing Director at Citigroup Alternative Investments in New York.

After graduating from MBS, Neil held the role of Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Financial System Inquiry (The "Wallis" Inquiry) into prudential regulation of financial institutions in Australia.

He is a past Director and US Delegate on the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) (2005-06) and a past Investment Board Member of IFSA in Australia (2008).

Alison Hardacre

Alison Hardacre is Managing Director of CounselLink, a high-growth start-up which aims to transform the allied health industry in Australia and beyond.

She has previously held General Management roles in the banking and health sectors. Prior to completing her MBA in 2002, she worked in management consulting and law. Alison is also a former Young Australian of the Year for community service. Running her own business has allowed her to leverage her MBA and corporate experience to make a tangible difference in the Australian health sector.

Steven is a self-employed business consultant who has held several senior executive positions with large companies, non-profit and small to medium business, including General Manager/ Company Secretary for the Brain Research Institute, General Manager Coles Myer Ansett Travel and Commercial Manager South East Asia for Ansett.

Steven is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

 

Dean Ireland

Dean Ireland
Dean Ireland is a consultant with executive search firm Egon Zehnder International. He is based in Melbourne.

Previously Dean was with General Electric, where he held a number of senior roles including CEO of one of their larger industrial businesses, GE Energy Australia, Head of Strategic Planning (based in Atlanta, USA) and Senior Vice President – Mergers & Acquisitions of GE Capital Aust/NZ.

Dean has worked extensively in Asia and the USA in a variety of industries including the Finance, Consulting, Energy and Industrial sectors.
Kathryn Londrigan

Kathryn Londrigan
Kathryn is a Project Director for the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and is based in Melbourne.

A background in healthcare, Kathryn began her career as a physiotherapist at a Victorian hospital before making a successful transition to the business environment in 2002. For the past five years Kathryn has held various senior management roles at TAC, including her latest as Project Director of the Claims Operating Model.

Kathryn is also Vice President of the board of management of The Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria, a not-for-profit community based organisation.
Seema Khehar

Seema is the founder and managing director of Twiga Consultancy Ltd based in London. Twiga Consultancy specialises in strategy, turnaround, programme management and change management with clients ranging from Barclays Capital to the National Health Service.

Previously, Seema held senior roles with Logica Consulting and Ernst and Young Consulting Banking Practise.

Seema is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, Association of MBA's, Chartered Institute of Banking and National Mentoring Consortium. Seema is one of the founders of the London Alumnni Chapter (LAMBS) and remains actively involved on the committee.
Jennifer Moltisanti

Jennifer is the Senior Director GST Risk and Strategy Complex in the Australian Taxation Office in Melbourne.

Since joining the ATO in 2003, Jennifer has overseen large-scale projects including a review of the GST Large Corporate Compliance Program and the realignment of the GST business line, as well as managing a large corporate client portfolio.

Jennifer previously held senior roles in the Australian Customs Service including Commercial Compliance Manager, Client Services Manager, Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager.
Vinod Muthanna

Vinod is the founder of Arya Capital Partners, a Sydney based Mezzanine Debt Fund.

Previously Vinod founded and headed up Westpac’s Financial Sponsors Group, responsible for leveraged finance, subordinated debt and private equity advisory. Prior to Westpac, he was with JPMorgan in M&A and debt financing and Toronto Dominion Bank in debt restructuring roles.

Vinod is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Australian Venture Capital Association. He is the current president of the Sydney Alumni Chapter.
Branko Panich

Branko Panich
Branko is a Principal and Head of the IT Practice for Australia, NZ, SE Asia, at Booz Allen Hamilton. He is based in Melbourne.

Branko was previously General Manager, Technology Strategy & Transformation at NAB and prior to that was Head of IT Strategy at Westpac Banking Corporation.

He has held a number of Directorship positions, including Director of IT Skills Hub Pty Ltd and the Australian Quadriplegic Association (Vic).

Derrick Sim

Derrick is the Regional Marketing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Asia Pacific. He is based in Singapore.

Since joining GlaxoSmithKline in 2002 he has held roles across Asia including Regional Medical Affairs Director, Asia Pacific and Head of Clinical R&D and Medical Affairs, Indonesia.

Derrick is strongly involved in the Singapore alumni chapter and regularly supports MBS Admissions in the recruitment of new students.

He is a member of the Australian Medical Association and recipient of the GlaxoSmithKline Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Award (2004).

Wayne Treeby

Wayne is Group Financial Controller/Executive Director Business at Telstra in Melbourne.

He was previously General Manager, Telstra Investor Relations and Financial Strategy and Corporate General Manager, Financial & Business Development. Before joining Telstra, Wayne was Executive Director of Corporate Finance at Merrill Lynch and Baring Securities.

He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme, Harvard Business School (2003), an Associate of the CPA and Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Director of many companies including Trading Post Group Pty Ltd. and Universal Publishers Pty Ltd.
Vu Tien Vy

Vy is a senior manager in the Financing Solutions Group at Barclays Capital in Singapore.

Between 2005 and 2007 Vy was Director in Banking Products for UBS Wealth Management in Sydney. Prior to that he worked for international finance group Credit Suisse in Singapore

He is one of the founding members of the Singapore Alumni Chapter, and has also served on the Sydney Alumni Chapter committee.

Vy is a member of the CFA Institute and a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
