Chris Lloyd

Professor of Business Statistics
Chris Lloyd's academic and consulting experience is truly international, and he has applied his expertise in the fields of statistics, data analysis and market research within both academic and business environments.
Chris' research interests are in the analysis of categorical data, especially in classification methods, which have seen wide application in marketing research. Chris' papers and articles have been published in Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of the Royal Society and Strategic Management journal, and he is the author of a graduate level textbook on categorical data analysis.
Prior to joining MBS, Chris held a number of other senior academic positions at institutions including the Australian Graduate School of Management, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Waterloo and London's Imperial College.
Chris has consulted widely on behalf of the scientific community, as well as for several prominent legal firms. He is managing editor and joint theory and methods editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics.
Patrick Butler

Associate Professor - Marketing
Dr Patrick Butler is an experienced academic, researcher and consultant whose professional expertise includes marketing thinking and practice in non-commercial contexts. His research has focused on marketing strategy, e-business, politics and public sector management issues, and has been published in many international books and journals.
Before joining Melbourne Business School, Patrick lectured at Trinity College Dublin and at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. He has been a Visiting Professor at Senshu University, Tokyo, and has taught and presented in both Europe and the USA. He has also worked on marketing development projects with EU and UN organisations in Russia and Africa.
Patrick has consulting and executive development experience in several sectors including commercial banking, healthcare, food production and government departments. He has worked with client organisations in Ireland, Denmark, Poland and Switzerland. Among the kinds of projects he leads are business planning, assessments of service programs, market research, new product evaluations and management development seminars and workshops.
Kannan Sethuraman

Associate Professor - Operations Management
Kannan Sethuraman is an experienced consultant, researcher and teacher who specialises in operations management, manufacturing and new product development.
Prior to joining MBS, Kannan held academic positions at the University of Michigan Business School at Ann Arbor, and at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. A highly respected teacher and facilitator, in 2003 Kannan was recognised with the MBS Teaching Excellence Award.
Kannan's fields of interest and expertise include application of operations management principles in the healthcare industry, transfer of lean manufacturing practices to the service sector, and supply chain management.
Kannan's research publications have appeared in reputed international journals such as Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, and the International Journal of Operations and Production Management. In addition, he has presented his work at conferences both in Australia and internationally.
