Application process/apply now

MBS wants its students to become satisfied, successful global business leaders. The Selection Committee take a holistic approach when assessing applications. They look for evidence of the students' ability to cope with the academic rigour of the program, the students' ability to contribute to the learning, and their potential fit.

In reviewing applications, the Selection Committee looks for individuals with demonstrated academic and professional success, leadership ambitions and a general openness to innovative learning and collaboration.

Entry requirements

  • an undergraduate degree - any discipline
  • at least two years full time work experience
  • a good command of English
  • the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a compulsory admissions requirement. Visit www.mba.com for test details.

If you transfer to the MBA from the MBS Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PDM) or the MBA (Professional) you do not require a GMAT score, but must have achieved an acceptable grade average in your PDM subjects.

Applying - a simple process

  1. All applications are completed and submitted electronically at www.mbs.edu/apply
  2. The application can be prepared in stages over a period of time. Only completed applications will be sent to the Selection Committee

Timing

Admissions Decisions: MBS understands that awaiting the decision of the Selection Committee can be stressful. Decisions normally require a minimum of 2 weeks from receipt of a completed application.

Late Applications: Applications received after the closing date will only be processed if there are places remaining in that intake. Late applicants may be offered a place in a subsequent intake.

Deferred Entry: The School will normally allow a successful candidate to delay entry to the MBA program for one year without submitting a new application. Longer delays may require a new application.

Successful applications
A formal letter of offer is sent to successful applicants detailing the terms and conditions of the offer and setting a deadline by which it must be accepted. The deadline is normally about four weeks from the date of the letter of offer.

Unsuccessful applications
Typically one in every three applicants is successful. The school appreciates that considerable time and effort are required to apply for a place in the program and that it is disappointing to submit an unsuccessful application. However, the School regrets that it is not able to comment on specific factors which may have led to the final decision of the selection committee.
