Program structure
The MBS academic calendar comprises three 13 week terms each year, with each term consisting of 12 weeks of teaching and a final examination week.
The MBA (Professional) is a part time, academically rigorous program comprising 10 core subjects and 6 electives. The core subjects develop student knowledge and understanding of the many functional aspects of business operations. The electives allow students to maintain a broad focus, to complement previous competences or to concentrate on a preferred specialisation.
Integrated MBA options
The MBA (Professional) is a 16 subject transitional program that sits in between the existing Postgraduate Diploma of Management (9 subjects) and the MBS MBA (20 subjects). Students can study the MBA (Professional) as a stand alone degree or as part of a transitional program.
Students have the option of transitioning from the Postgraduate Diploma of Management to either the MBA (Professional) or the MBA and from the MBA (Professional) to the MBA.
Delivery Options
All MBA (Professional) students commence their degree with the compulsory World of Management subject. This is taught in intensive week mode (Monday - Friday). Once this subject is complete students continue the course via their chosen delivery mode.
Option 1: ‘Traditional' weeknight study mode
Option 2: Intensive weekend block mode
Flexible Options
- It is possible to transfer between the weeknight and weekend modes between semesters
- Study loads can be varied from one semester to the next to suit work or personal circumstances
Completion Times
The innovative two-mode delivery structure of the MBA (Professional) enables students to study the degree at a pace that suits their work and family life. Students can study their core subjects exclusively in either weeknight or weekend mode, or choose a combination of the two to suit individual circumstances.
This unique flexibility means that for some, the degree can be accelerated, for others they now have the option to study at a pace that fits in with personal and professional commitments.
