2009 Women and Management Dinner

The Women and Management Dinner, now in its 16th year, is a ‘must attend’ event for women in Melbourne’s business and social calendars. The dinner boasts an impressive guest list of Australian and international business leaders which continues to grow each year in size and reputation.

Today, the Women and Management Dinner attracts a diverse group of over 600 women and men, and features keynote addresses by outstanding women leaders of business, government and community who openly share their leadership journeys. In the past, a number of our guest speakers have included: Margaret Jackson AC, Former Chairman, QANTAS; Gail Kelly, CEO, Westpac; Pera Wells, Secretary-General, World Federation of United Nations Associations; and Catherine Walter AM, Chairman, Equipsuper.

The Women and Management Dinner is today, one of Melbourne’s leading forums for celebrating the achievement of women in management, and for discussing issues of gender and diversity in the workplace.

In 2009, MBS is delighted to welcome as its guest speakers, two inspiring women who are changing the face of philanthropy. Through achievement in business and community, these two women will share their fascinating stories on how they are leading transformative change in Australia, Africa and Nepal.

Audette Exel is co-founder and CEO of the ISIS Group. Established 12 years ago, it is one of the early examples of social entrepreneurship. The ISIS Group consists of a financial services firm, set up for the principal purpose of generating revenue for its own charitable foundation, The ISIS Foundation. The ISIS Foundation provides health and education services to mothers and children in extreme poverty in the developing world, and now provides services to over 10,000 people a year. Since inception, the ISIS businesses have provided millions of dollars in support to the ISIS Foundation.

Ms Jill Reichstein OAM, Chair, Reichstein Foundation

Jill Reichstein’s involvement with social change philanthropy grew from her early involvement with the first women’s refuge in Victoria and with the community childcare movement. As chair of the Reichstein Foundation since 1987, Jill has been active in developing strategic partnerships and alliances towards growing progressive philanthropy as well as mentoring and resourcing new donors, seeking to clarify their own philanthropic direction.
