Alumni are contributing to a brighter future for MBS and the world we live in
The old-adage that a crisis brings out the best in people remains truer than ever.
As one of the country’s most difficult financial years draws to a close this week, we’re delighted that the alumni response to support increased opportunity for MBS students, in these tough economic times, continues to grow.
This year saw the Giving to MBS appeal reach out to more alumni than ever. Students spoke to almost 1,300 graduates about their time at MBS and, in many cases, they made a gift to support programs such as Indigenous scholarships, hardship bursaries, and student internships in not-for-profit organisations.
Just as importantly, engaging graduates through the telephone appeal has helped MBS to better understand how it can ensure the alumni program remains relevant and valuable. Many alumni asked to be more involved with their alma-mater through mentoring, lecturing opportunities and student recruitment. The telephone appeal even managed to rekindle some old friendships, with alumni finding long-lost classmates with the School’s help.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with a student about your time at MBS. If you have any further feedback about the calls, please do get in touch with me – I’d be pleased to hear from you.
And, with just a few hours to go before the end of the financial year, there’s still time to make a tax-deductible gift that helps to ensure MBS remains a byword for quality, and that leadership education can make a difference to better business, government and communities throughout Asia-Pacific, and beyond.
